Living in the land of Maroons
« on: October 24, 2019, 08:04:03 PM »

Got another notice 90 minutes ago that the power may be cut off in the next 36 to 48 hours.

Any way the wind blows...

Ha!...Ha!

How will you cook your lentils??

Clink, start drinking the beer!!

I’ll have to check with pops to see if they are impacted or if it’s them rural Santa Cruz areas.

Nope Sunnyvale is pretty stable.

I dropped Kat and two of her gal pals at Castle Rock today so they can backpack Skyline to the Sea the next few days. I could not believe that new parking lot. I drove Skyline and then Summit Rd to Soquel San Jose Rd to get home. Don't miss any of that drive and some of the people I encountered on that road were either maniacs or maroons.

I thought I saw Neil Young walking his dog at the Christmas Tree farm  :guitar: :blahblah: :yesnod: :lol:

Those really narrow, winding sections of the highway look fun on a cycle but not so much in a car.
I felt like I was back in Kentucky!  :eeeek: :crazy: :yikes:

Where's the little bald-headed banjo playing emoji?  :idea:

What a difference a day makes - scorching yesterday and perfect today with a light breeze.

I expect the power to be cut off any time as evening approaches

It was a perfect day here last time they did it too.

A week or so ago it was pretty windy here (much windier than when they cut the power last time) but not a word.

Shoulda gone to Pinns a day early. :yesnod: :thumbup: :biggrin:

Yup Santa Cruz’s issue is no nuclear power.
They shut the moss landing plant down.

They really need a nuclear power plant.

Alicia's Sugar Shack has a generator.

"Power-off" has been pushed back to midnight here now.

Nope.

-  I drove home this evening without encountering any traffic delays;

-  It's quiet outside our house;

-  We've go no lights on our street;

-  People up here aren't angry all the time;

-  It smells like a beautiful forest outside our house... oh, wait.
