Access to West Side?
« on: March 27, 2020, 11:22:16 AM »
Anyone know if it's possible to hike into the West Side? I just wanted to hiking around check out possible projects with binos. Sounds like there is 'no vehicle access'. Anyone know if it is acceptable by the rangers to bicycle to the parking lot and hike from there?

Could one access the park through this road (no idea if it's private, or allowed): https://www.google.com/maps/place/Pinnacles+National+Park/@36.4677268,-121.2218895,533a,35y,88.87h,3.2t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x8092438089cedd9f:0x9b82fbee98a844ee!8m2!3d36.4905655!4d-121.1824925

I don't have direct answers to your questions, but I just heard that they're now closing the East Side too, except for those with campground reservations. Trails and access will only be open to those with reservations.

That road you were asking about is someone's driveway, so it is not a public road.

No real parking on the road on the west side.

All private property.

I'm not worthy.

I guess I was trying to find if there is a sneaky, yet legal way to get into the west side of the park? But with East Side closing, it may not matter anyway.

Time to hit up some other super top secret spot nobody has ever heard of near the SF Bay Area...

I think sneaky and legal may not go hand in hand.  There are probably sneaky ways.  Legal, maybe not so much.  As with all things you just have to ask yourself....

No sneaking into the monument as they are on to our ways.
