JC navigates the roads like a local escaped longhorn

You get your own achievements so you can compete against your best time.

Kind of cool to see how fast somebody can ride something.

On the uni the goal is to see how slow you can go and how long you can stay seated without falling.
I'm sure you already know this but the slower you go, the harder it is to keep your balance.
After about 50 minutes, what I affectionately refer to as "crotch weariness" starts to set in and it's time to head for the barn.
On the stretch home whatever you do you must not raise up out of the seat.
If you do, the pain only intensifies until you dismount.

It’s tough as I have to ride the same segments each day.....even taking a detour to complete the segment.

I ride essentially the same circuit every day but I can mix it up with a bunch of interconnected streets.
I never get bored.
I even get an ocean view for part of it   :ihih:

You don't need strava to be a local legend.  I bet you if I asked anybody in a mile radius of your house about the guy on the unicycle they would immediately know who I'm talking about.

Supposedly there is a guy who does laps up and down Rio Del Mar hill (steeper and longer than anything I've ever done).
I saw him once when I used to run - about 10 years ago.
There is another older dude with a ponytail that rides Beach Rd and along the beach path down to Seacliff.
That is actually a fun ride but I haven't been down there in years either - too crowded.
I saw a younger girl down there on the beach path once too. All of them ride 36 inch wheels.

Every once in a while someone in the neighborhood will drive or walk by and tell me they have been watching me for years.

Yup, hard to be unique in Santa Cruz....

None of the other uni riders I've seen wear orange shirts exclusively  :ihih:

I have done better on my unicycle mounts the last three days.

Sunday was 3x on
Monday was 2x on
Today was 1x on - I brought the ruckus

Looks like the the weather gods are smiling on the crud the next few days

Now I see why these guys ride.
They like to trash talk on Strava.

On a really hot day recently I saw a guy on a bike in woodside just wearing speedos. Trying to figure out where he kept the tube of sunscreen with no jersey.  Ideas?

I crashed twice today, on the same arm.  Neck is a bit stiff.  Ordered a full safe helmet.  Looking at neck braces.
