Thanks for the wishes. And thanks J.C. for digging up the photos. Aren't we now at 10 years of climbing together? Or did we hit that point earlier this year?

I'm at the office for a couple hours (our Christmas party/lunch is today).

Joel and I went out to breakfast and after lunch the girls and I are going for a long hike out at Table Mountain. For some reason I didn't feel like dragging climbing gear out there today.

here is the poem generated by Chat GPT  (yes, today is the first time I am using Chat GPT, it's kind of cool)  I hope you like it Brad. ;)

In Twain Harte's embrace, where pines stand tall,
A climber's spirit, fearless and enthralled.
On this day, Brad, a beacon shining bright,
A celebration for you, in morning's light.

Amidst the rocks, where granite stories unfold,
You scale the heights, a climber brave and bold.
Guide books authored, each page a trail,
A legacy left, in every crag and dale.

Through Sonora's streets, your law firm stands,
A beacon of justice, held in capable hands.
In courtrooms, your eloquence takes flight,
A lawyer's heart, just and resolute.

Birthday wishes echo in the mountain breeze,
From Twain Harte to peaks and through the trees.
May every summit bring joy anew,
As life's ascent unfolds, just for you.

In the law's domain, where justice prevails,
And on the cliffs where courage never fails,
Happy birthday, Brad, may your day be grand,
A climber, an author, in God's land.

May the sun warm your path, the winds be fair,
As you navigate life's peaks with utmost care.
With each year passing, like a climbing rope,
May friendships and adventures offer hope.

So here's to you, Brad, on your special day,
In Twain Harte's glow, under skies so gay.
A climber, an author, a lawyer, a friend,
May joyous echoes through your life extend.

Tomorrow is the 12th anniversary of my first lead at Pinnacles (12-23-11).
I didn't make it 10 years (9 years and 5 weeks).
You belayed me on Lonesome Bolt on 2-8-21 (my last lead before fate sent me down another path).

Kat and I met you and Mucci on February 17th 2012

Hope you have a fun day and here's mud in your eye!

Currently out of the country and suffering from choss withdrawals. Still I would like to join in wishing Brad a Merry belated birthday.

Would like to share a few of his great qualities for those that haven't had the pleasure of meeting him.
-As already mentioned Brad (prefers to be called Brah) is a fashion icon, constantly staying up to date with the newest leg-wear trends especially.
-Stenographers love him, as he is always very concise and hates using big words. Further he loves when like you literally use like totally the most meh grammar or like whatever.
-Brah is an extremely reliable partner as he has very few ties/commitments anywhere. Not really a family man. - Also no pets and especially hates dogs which allows him to have no commitments but his climbing partners.
-He is extremely mature in his sense of humor in that he hates dumb dad jokes

Additionally he is still crushing it on big walls and hard trad routes. I was fortunate enough to witness his hardest lead to date on the SPH and snapped a crazy action shot of him lunging for the crux jug. Think 5.13a R/X but my memory is foggy from too many second hand highs in Santa Cruz.

By this point I'm sure you have determined I am a known liar.

Brah rocking his newest shorts.

Here is a picture of my mountain project tick from my first meeting Brah.

Hardman on a hard lead

Brah on his *probably* most quality FA ever, Mikayla or Gavin would happily verify how great it is.

Moral of this story is don't come to me for non-sarcastic comments but more importantly, happy belated birthday Brad! You are a great mentor and friend. Sending love.

The Brah-Man treads the line between fashion and flashing like no one else!
Causing trouble when not climbing.

This is intimidating. I believe Jenn that this was not written by a human. And wow, just wow that a computer/software could do this.

I makes me think of Aldo Leopold's famous quote: "I am glad I shall never be young without wild country to be young in. Of what avail are forty freedoms without a blank spot on the map?"

Although in this case I am glad that I will never be young in a world where machines are performing human-level thinking....

Thank you. Coming from my favorite Marco this is very nice indeed!

It's a bit of a shock to see my favorite Marco missing out on what's cool this dramatically. What's cool in the "twenty-something" crew is calling me this:

Yes, I know that Katie is ultra-cool and that you're still only moving in that direction. But still?

And you know what's even cooler? The contents of that gift to one RDB:

What did I do right to deserve this type of fun with an ultra-cool 28 year old?

Yes.

Super aesthetic line on one of the most eye catching parts of one of the most eye catching formations in the park. Really hope to do that this season. JC's nickname for it just makes it even better.

As kids these days would say: you have a RDB (Rad Daughter Brah).
-I have only met this 28 yr old BRD(Brah's Rad Daughter) but from stories you have RDB (plural).

Brad, irthday greetings from Ojstrica! We're staying at the base of Ojstrica's North Face. Impressive, though no winter ascents are on the menu.

And I know just the perfect partner: RDC (Rad Dude Cole). NUCM might work too as a partner for it, although I don't suspect that it's her preferred type of climb (Nearing Ultra-Cool Mikayla).

Vicki and her sister drove to Sacramento yesterday to meet Tricia and the U of O marching band gear-driving team (driving huge vans to Phoenix - the main part of the band will fly). Tricia handed off presents and got hers from us.

So I might as well post gifts from the other cool daughter. An appropriate soap and, wow (!!!!) a personalized calendar filled with family adventure photos:

With daughters like this (and friends their age like M and M)?  I count myself as one very lucky man.

Well hell, it just keeps getting better. And I might as well post about it.

Christmas gift from "T" is a gorgeous map of the PCT:

And notice the ending date already printed on the map?

That is some cool stuff. I hope you guys do manage to complete the trail in 2024.

Waldo's picture caption scared me - "Pinns hanging JC"

I thought this might be an advertisement for some future event. At Pinch or Lynch perhaps?
