The Triple Crown.

This is a good year since it has three of the hardest doubles.

Mulholland 202 Miles 16,400" elevation gain

I don't even know why Mulholland is on the list with only 1367' elevation gain in 202 miles. I could breeze that in about 10-12 hours.

LOL! Bicycle. I did 150 miles in 8 hrs once without really pushing it.

I'm actually planning to do the Devil's Mountain ride this year.

My triple crown will be that, the Eastern Sierra Double and the Death Valley Fall Double... I'm also planning a much longer ride, but that will have to wait to see how fit I can get!

Now that I'm back on the bike full-time, it's only a matter of time.

F'ueco if you going to do the Devil Mountain you should really try and do the TT (Terrible Two) it is considered by many to be one of the hardest Doubles in the states. It has been written up a few times. Plus you get the "I Did IT" T-shirt.

The main difference is that I know I can make it up Sierra Road on my double chainring (of course, doing it after 150 miles on the bike will be another story). That Santa Rosa course looks heinous! But perhaps... It all depends on the snow quality/quantity later in the season. The more snow there is, the more likely I am to be skiing.

The Eastern Sierra Double is an absolute classic, and anyone with good endurance and pain threshold should do it. That was my first double (last June), and was well worth the effort.

I just put a 'down payment' on my next bike frame (a steel cyclocross frame set up for . This may put a damper on the plans of riding any doubles early in the season; as my bike won't be ready until May or June. But when it's done, I'll have the baddest ass steel bike on the block.

Can I add to that challenge?

I'm going to ride the Mount Tam Double Century on August 4. Should I also go for the Alcatraz Challenge Aquathlon on the next day? I'm not sure I'd be able to do that 7 mile run, but the 1.5 mile swim sounds oh so refreshing after a good long bike ride...

I rode, climbed and worked today. Not bad for a Saturday... Only two hours at work with no one else around.
