The real liar would be Pinocchio.

When Laura climbed over the "cylindrical knob", she sat on it for a moment, we all burst out laughing... then I asked everyone: "Have you ever heard that joke? -  Minnie Mouse once sat on Pinocchio's nose and begged 'Tell a lie, Pinocchio, tell a lie...'".

So Brad suggested to call the cylindrical knob "Pinocchio's Nose", and name the route "Tell a lie".  We all agreed.

How would you know? Brad is the only one listed on the FA.

P.S. Climbing with double vision is NOT FUN.

^^^

The day I did the FA I ran out of time and so I left a one-bolt summit anchor (with no chains). A one-bolt anchor doesn't seem very modern.

Clink was kind enough to go up there with me after we finished Machete on Monday. Now it has a two-bolt anchor with chains.

And as I picture double vision, I wonder how climbing is even possible (without making the obvious joke, how can you even decide which hold is real?).

Mystery solved. Thanks. Now I can sleep tonight...

Clunk was dumb enough to go up there with me after we finished Machete on Monday.

There...I fixed it for you.

Barnum said there is one born every minute.

And as I picture double vision, I wonder how climbing is even possible (without making the obvious joke, how can you even decide which hold is real?).

It's not possible - which I why I haven't been climbing.
The one time I tried it was bad for the handholds but even worse for trying to place the feet - not to mention how it affects balance and depth perception. I'm sure some smart-ass will make a comment involving a blind fold, an eye patch or some other nonsense. Just give me a last cigarette and a chance to say a few final words...

Let me guess.
No clever responses because Brad is guess where? Wait...let me think...Pinnacles? :ciappa:
Clunk must be too busy working or he's pouting somewhere (no way...Meanderthals don't pout).
Noal is working and daydreaming about being halfway up a 100+ foot line.

I just did 13 laps on the uni  for Friday the 13th.
I'm thinking about practicing my hangman's knot/noose.
My ropes are lonely and wondering why they have been neglected for over a year.

What was lucky was that we got through the mid west before the big dust storm Thursday.
We did experience a Haboob in SE Colorado about 2 weeks ago - but the one that hit yesterday looked worse.

Like so many of the old routes I have done at Pinnacles - I'd prefer to NEVER experience that again.

Cool! 1 named for Brad, 1 for BAP, 1 for JC, KC and myself and 1 for Gavin. The rest are yoga positions?

Not quite.

Although it appears obvious that Great Minds was named for me, it actually describes my and Gavin’s almost simultaneous discovery of/determination to climb the route on successive days.

The Stronghold looks cool. Will this area be affected by the seasonal closures, or is it open year round?
