24 Hours of Adrenalin
« on: May 29, 2007, 09:23:14 PM »
Team,  I wanted to start a thread for the 24 Hours of Adrenalin.   We can post any ideals or sugestion on what to bring.  Jeff offered to bring his pop up camper.  I have a Easy up.   Does everyone have lights?   BBQ pit etc.

I'll try to come up with a list so we can tick items off.  We might be able to borrow a camping gas grill. I can also precook some food. No good lights yet. I think Mr Mud always rented before. But we are thinking about investing in one. Need to do some deal hunting.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

A good light is just about the best thing you can get to improve your riding... With the one I have, I have enough battery power to do a full century at night without worrying about the battery dying. Not that you'd necessarily want to do that...  ;)

Ahh the lights....in my mind and without question, the light is one of the most critical pieces of gear you have. Alas, it is also one of the most costly. I've had mine both go out before before the technology caught up to my dreams. A great deal on a HID is:

I prefer both a helmet and a handlebar but if you only have one option, helmet all the way. Another reason I'm so into Niterider (beside the killer prods) is they 1) have great support in general and 2) great support at the 24 hour venues.

Their support must have changed, since a few years ago when I was spending a fair amount of time looking into this I heard from a number of people that their support sucked.

Yeah...not sure but they kicked A** at Moab, Herkey Creek, and Laguna Seca. Went so far is to replace my battery on the spot at Herkey because the wire was pulling out.

I can be in, or I can be out (then I'll sag), whichever works out the best for the team. I promised to come up with a list of things to bring, but then I found a very comprehensive list on the 24HOA website.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Well of course I will be riding to Laguna Seca from Mountain View. Sheesh......$165 for an 8 hour solo and t-shirt just may push me off. I can ride that much as UC and spend it all on Beer instead and a TNF shirt.
