Riding Lights Suggestions
« on: June 05, 2007, 09:31:21 PM »
Okay, now that I'm commuting up to Foster City I need to upgrade my riding light.

I'm tempted to get a Light and Motion Lith Ion (Solo Logic). But it's not a HID.....

I'm not worthy.

Hey Factor,

if you need a light now (it can't wait 6 months) I'd suggest checking a HID light side by side with a non HID at a local store. You'd be shocked at the difference. Regardless, both are better than the old penlight in the teeth. You need to decide if you need that level of  visibility. Frankly, those white legs of yours stand apart from others.

Get the HID system fo sure... I've got the one from niterider that goes nearly 8 hours on high beam (NiteRider Moab). That's really nice if you don't want to have to leave the thing plugged in all the time when you aren't riding. I normally can go about two weeks before I need to recharge the battery (more like a week during the winter).

Which battery to go with? I'd like to get a lith-ino and save some weight.

F'ueco....the Moab is $500 bones

Are you married? Cuz that's a lot to spend on a light.

It is nice.

Factor, stop pussing about the money. Tell the wife it will cost more to repair the broken bones incurred when you got run over because the light died.

Besides, drink one less bottle of wine a week until it's covered you booze hound.

  Of course I'm not married...

Is $300 more reasonable? There's a cheaper version on sale at Performance.

Heh, I guess I missed the post where he said he'd already bought one. It seems like a good compromise...

We bought the same one, NiteRider Enduro HID, from Performance.  7+ hours of burn time for less than 3 bills. Pretty good value eh?   :)
Inch by inch, I will get there.
