Biggest/longest earthquake I've experienced
« on: October 30, 2007, 07:52:08 PM »
8:04pm Mag 5.6 centered in San Jose

Mr Mud was not home (he was on his way back TO work). First it sounded as if a giant monster was walking on our roof and everything started shaking and making noises. It took me a few seconds to remember that monsters didn't really exist, so I bolted out the door.  Stood there until my pumping heart calmed down. It's weird that the neighbors' dogs that barked all the time were actually quiet tonight.  It made me suspect I was hallucinating, but still, the first thing I did when I got back in the house was put my helmet on. Now I'm safe.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

I was at Gordon Biersch with my friends Francis and Jean... Watching those "fermentation tanks" shaking was pretty cool.  :)

And I think that was the biggest earthquake I've felt since one of the aftershocks of the Loma Prieta 'quake (I didn't feel that one because I was in the middle of a water polo game)..
Live from Boulder, CO...

So Mudworm, I laughed at the helmet bit. But out of curiosity, why post on the "Food and Wine" section?

ehh...for lack of a better category I guess... Someone needs to do a better job organizing these forums. ::)

I didn't want to post to the Mud Puddle because I wasn't really talking to myself. The Biking section might have been a better choice because it was my bicycling helmet I was wearing.  But didn't think of it when I did the posting.

that would qualify.

i laughed out loud at the image of you wearing your special helmet inside the house.
