Rain, rain, go away
« on: January 05, 2008, 01:51:11 PM »
I'm sitting at a Starbucks. *sigh* It's still raining hard outside.  We have lost power since 8am yesterday (Friday) morning and it's not back yet. I have no idea when we'll get it back.

One mile after I got on Hwy84 to go to work yesterday, I drove into some dangling power lines right after a sharp bend. And 50 feet in front of me was a downed tree across the road completely blocking it.  It seemed like I was the first one blocked by it because there was a car in front of me and I never saw it turn back. And when I turned around, a line of cars stopped behind me and started turning around. I kept thinking, "Wow, I just missed it!" So, I went back home and grabbed my climbing helmet.  I had to take a detour by way of Half Moon Bay to go to work. I wore the helmet for a little while until I decided that it was just too dorky.  Besides, if a tree were to come down on me, the helmet probably ain't going to save me.

Had dinner with F4 and Jenny after work. They took us in for the night. Guess we could have toughened it out at home since we've gotta probably half a dozen sleeping bags. But it's just so much fun to hang out with friends, although there was not much of hanging out because Mr Mud glued himself in front of F4's HDTV last night AND this morning watching Discovery Channel while I kept Jenny busy working on my crossword puzzles (she's really good at it).

I wonder how the fish are doing. Has everything melted in the freezer yet? We plan on going home tonight. Guess I'll find out then.
Inch by inch, I will get there.

please don't wear a helmet driving a car. it scares people.  :)  LOL!!!  too funny mudworm, too funny.

let us know if you need anything.  your stuff is probably still frozen.

If not and you need to store stuff, per chance a frozen ling cod steak that was caught by fisherstrom, my belly has space.  :)

Out mudworm.....hang in there. That's exactly what scares people about living there (and makes is somewhat affordable). The sleeping bag thing you were willing to do, not so many would follow suit. I am in your court on that one though. Of course, if it was 20 times a year I might grumble.

Then again, think of the savings from PG&E! Zero usage!!!

Munge & Squiddo, there's room at my place tonight for hotpot. Let me know and bring some meat (frozen so I can slice it).

Don't worry Mudworm, plenty of people wear a helmet while driving  ;)

Especially if you'r in the car with Squiddo.
I'm not worthy.

Yeeeeeeeeeeah, we got our power back  ;D

When we bought Mr. Heater (propane heater) from Orchard yesterday, I thought we would not have to go to a cold bed at night. Oh, was I wrong. As soon as Mr Mud hooked it up with the propane tank, it was seated right in front of the fish tank and kept on throughout the night. The fish survived, so all good.
