When are these people going to learn? 8.6 mile loops don't cut it for a 24 hour ride... You need one big loop and then a smaller loop for nighttime. The big loop has to be at least 50 miles! Who wants to ride the same 8 miles that many times?

They should have made it a 12 hour race... That might get more people.

even 12 hours is too long for a 8 mile loop. When I asked, it was not because they didn't get enough people, but it was because they couldn't get all the paperwork ready to put it together.

I was bummed I couldn't make this ride but comparing this to their other course.....this would have been the first to check off. I'm fine with a 12-15 mile loop over 12-24 hours. Each lap becomes more fun. Night laps are the best part!

I think the reason they do the shorter laps is it makes it easier to rescue people. It also makes it easier for people to limp in. Having done that I am glad that is was not 25 miles to get back.

Puking my guts out and almost messing my shorts about half way out at the 24 hours of Laguna sucked. A couple of people chastised me for dropping my trousers 20 feet from the trail others asked if I was ok as I wobbled back to my bike.
