your loss fools.

ask yourself when was the last time you did something with a 4 hour approach and 5 hour decent.  something where there was more to the route finding than being able to find the next bolt in blinding sunlight.  the kinda thing where you are sure to put new batteries in the headlamp and carry spares.  was there a pass involved?  a glacier or snow field?  did ya drink water from from lakes and streams?

come up with the answer and you will know the last time you really lived.

The last time would be '02 since I was up there.

Now I'm doing the sleep deprevation part of my alpine training. That and trying not to get hit by James when changing him. I figure that's good training for the day when a viper trys to strike me on a route.

I'm clearly a bum, but I've been in the Palisades this year. My partner flirted with death; we didn't summit, but, hey, I've been there. I've also done all the "classic" routes in the Palisades (and then some) at least as measured by two volumes of Fiddler/Monyier. So, I'm a bum, but can I be let off on the "fools" part?

Poor Salad, no takers even at Supertaco...

What about Squiddo? Dude weren't you looking for a partner?

Swiss is nice. A little contrived i.e. they sought the line least resistance. We straighened the line out.

Just watch out for the decent, oh mother! I nearly bought the farm going down the wrong gully. You should have seen my brother's eyes as he watched me slip and then catch myself with a coil back handed. I'd solo it next time and then just down climb the route.

all right, sorry.  it was a bad attempt at trying to talk lane into coming out without singling him out, but no, he isnt a fool either.  just trying to persuade.

brad, meant no disrespect to your experience either.  didnt even put the 2 together (sorry for that too).  was just siked, still acclimated, have never been out there to really climb, etc.

my head is still a bit out in the clouds after 14 glorious days in the mtns, and im sure i could hit it from a better angle...

c'mon, i gotta drop a gilbertism or two everyonce in a while, even if im 500 miles away!

that's not a gilbertism, not crude enough by a long shot.

I expected more.

No disrespect taken at all. Been there, done that in the "had no partner" department before. And Lane really should be getting out into the Sierra. Dude's in pretty strong shape right now.

He's still climbing? I thought he was busy losing mtn biking partners and breaking various components on his bike.

Yes, I've been making a rare trip out to the mountains here and there. First seven months of the year was brutal - probably only got out climbing *maybe* 10 times? This month, I'm splitting weekends between climbing or other activities and getting Kelly moved in to my place.

That being said, I'm looking to get back on the bandwagon in September. Speaking of which, anyone climbing Labor Day Weekend? I'm itching to get 3 days of some granitey (or any rock really) goodness!!!!

Oh, and Sal, I am a fool and a bum and I'm sorry I couldn't get away. If you got time in September, let me know, brau.
