Dunnage pack trip to the Palisades
« on: August 05, 2008, 03:55:42 PM »
Who be interested in doing a 7-10 day trip to the Palisades next year?  Hire mules to carry in base camp type tents, grande stoves, gourmet food, bottled beer and good wine, books, board games, and music.

Full on ASSAULT!

at the risk of being called out by this obviously troll-like post, hell yeah! I'd like to get drunk in the backcountry just like the rest of the tards.

Which side of the Palisades, and climbing in the north or south part? I'm kinda done with the Palisade Glacier area (done all the climbs there I want to do). Other Palisades areas? I'm interested?

Brad, I was thinking the glacier area, but in reality it doesn't really matter and it doesn't even have to be the Palisades.  All that really matters is that there is a decent amount climbing nearby (doesn't have to be THAT close, it is climbing, and it's not supposed to be easy) to accomodate the total number of people.  I think the real magic would be the mornings and the evenings, of course fueled by the adventures of the day.  Wifes, girlfriends and children are strongly recommened for optimum enjoyment!

I'll protest the f&*$ing pack animals at the trailhead...

Carry your own stuff. Mules are for old geezers.

Salad,

Count me in! I'm game for the Palisades. Plus that would set us up for Temple Crag. I've never seen anyone on it when I was there back in '01 & '02.

I could prolly carry James on my back all the way up there.

Oh and for the record...
Damn that Brutus!

OK the dunnage trip is actually happening.  we are taking off Sunday from South Lake and getting carted in over Bishop Pass.  7 nights of bliss with the fam at altitude.

I'd still like to get a group climbing thing going sometime....  would be very fun.
