The toad reminded of "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride"

And I love Dances with Warthogs.  Such a great climb!  Wish I could go climbing...

It's sure pleasing to see such young climbers continuing Pinnacles' bold traditions. Cole and Marco making what I am sure it the third ascent of Daedalus (third ascent in the nearly 50 years since it was put up!!):

That was one of the top 5 knob slinging routes I've done in the park. I'm almost certain Denny must've put an angle or Z-piton in the pocket where the terrible 5.8 crux is. What do I know tho, I was a toprope princess. Cole was a beast and got us up the top pitches where rock turns to shite.

Earlier in the day we warmed up on Cuidado and which was not exactly a comparable warmup... would recommend

Edit: thanks for taking pictures Brad. Its invalid without them and Cole and I didn't take any.

Such a great route. Thanks Gavin for finding it. I definitely miss Pinns this time of year.

Recently was working on a route with Cole and due to its traversing nature we decided to fix a rope...

This is how you find god real quick....jumar a fixed rope in the Pinns...

Cole nearly found god real quick. Good thing the core was still in great shape.
Certainly an eye opener that something so tiny, loose, and visibly flat could cut the sheath. Though maybe it was just the frog method of jugging is too bouncy  ???

Unfortunately, not me. But I resemble the plant... slow moving, looking a little green, arms extended to the crags in the sky... so I could see the resemblance. ;)

Want to climb at Pinns, but I ride sled in the winter, so the seasons overlap. And hardly anyone from has time to find out if I'm wrenching or able to climb, so I tend to hwy 108 a lot.

The pic of the climber is Clink... he might have been around?

Had a silly day Thursday on The Flying None. Might need to break out these pants again for the next photo shoot.

Edit: still working on getting the pic link entered correctly...

Edit edit: success!

This is awesome, was there an obvious boost in climbing performance with the pants?

"Pants?"

Jesus... kids these days.

I'm going to take the girls out on Paper Cabin Ridge. A long a viewful hike that I've wanted to do for a long time. I'll see if I can rehabilitate my eyes.

Excellent on the climb, as their flexibility is unsurpassed. Unfortunately they were an equal detriment on the approach and descent, as they breathed shockingly poorly and the waist kept sliding down. (Unrelated, thanks for your beta on the raps for the First Creek Slabs on Mountain Project. My cousin and I were out there about a month ago and that information was quite helpful.)

What, you never rocked neon Lycra back in the late 1900s?

Nope.

Steve Wong did though and I had a special pair of pants to counter his lycra - Maroon-colored, deep, deep corduroy pants:

They were the perfect anti-lycra. Until that crash and burn in March of 1999. The YOSAR people had to cut them off of me and that, as they say, was the end of those.
