Rebolting Lava Falls bolts included - Volunteers?
« on: December 05, 2008, 01:21:26 PM »
A guy from Truckee has bolts and is looking for someone that is willing to help him rebolt Lava Falls.

Lava Falls has Star Dryve bolts with Leeper hangers.  The problem is the Star Dryves are glued in so the bolts will most likely have to be sheered off.  Then a new bolt put in.

If you are interested let me know and I will send you his info.

After discussing with Bruce Hildenbrand, we will likely use 3/8" x 3.5" SS Rawlbolts instead.
It's very slow to drill new 1/2" holes by hand - they are better suited to routes where people
fall and hang a lot - just Feed the Beast and Verdict so far.

What about using a 1/2 for the last bolt before the bulge?  That one bolt that gets a fair amount of falling, hanging and swinging around.

I have a few SS hangers to donate.

I think folks hang more on the 1st pitch.

Shake and Bake need replacing as well.

I have a device that may work for getting the nails out. But most likely new holes will be needed.

Wow, Clint posting....so this site is legit?
