Carlsbad Half Marathon
« on: January 29, 2009, 08:41:27 AM »
Jen ran the Carlsbad half this past Sunday.  She hardly trained at all and ended up with an odd ankle injury that kept her from running the last two weeks before the race.

She finished in fine style, took my advice to GO SLOW, and shaved over 10 seconds per mile on the back 6+ miles...

Post race celebration with a Kobe beef cheeseburger and pint!

Next up for her is La Jolla, I think her goal will be to break 2 hours.
eow!

The burger and the beer afterward is the key to breaking PRs!

Tell Jen, nice job!  I hope her ankle heals fast.

I have not run at all for months. I'm afraid that if I start, I'll be tempted to do Kaiser Half again in Feb, but I probably will not improve over last year. Maybe I'll start running again after it.
Inch by inch, I will get there.
