So it's been a couple days here in Taiwan. I thought I'd share some of the experience.
We took a trip to the southern part of the island. The region is supposed to be a tropical paradise rivaling Thailand (if you ask a Taiwanese). Yet, beautiful as it is...it's home to their 3rd nucular power plant. How do I know that? There is a view point and they say that.
We got to take a tour of a nature preserve that only allows 200 people to enter per day (very similar to Point Lobos). We show up to the parking lot a little before 8am. Well, before you can blink...the remaining 196 people showed up......all of them in buses at once. So our peaceful walk wasn't to be so peacful.
Mind you, before you gain entry you have to watch a video instructing you: don't walk on the flowers, don't smoke or drop your trash and stay on the trail (we skipped it). Yet on the walk...you see folks smoking, walking all over the place. But the place was amazing because the full force of the pacific was hitting the shore.
More to come...
