This is a thread about my trip to Newzie Land...
« on: February 25, 2009, 09:43:56 AM »
A place for me to rant and [mostly] rave about the wonders of 'KiwiLand'. My flight leaves at 7:00 PM this evening, so the countdown is well under way. Hopefully the 12+ hour flight goes smoothly. Then I have a two-hour layover in Aukland before continuing on to Queenstown. Then the real fun begins!  :)

I'm bringing my laptop and camera along with plenty of batteries and memory. Expect to see a lot of pics! I may even get some up online while I'm there, but don't count on it.

Nice. Keep us posted. I'll be both envious and jealous.  :)

You might want to back up your data in your laptop. After reading about how David Zabriskie lost multiple computers along with 13 bikes and other things when he was away from home for AToC (link), I thought it would always be a good idea to back up your computer data.

Have a great time there! Oh and best of luck with your Ironman!
Inch by inch, I will get there.

Sheep pictures for Mr. Mud....

Have fun.

PS, get a picture after you flush...the water swirles the other way! Unless you are at a fancy place and the water just drops.

I had a picture, but the wife deleted it.

So far: paragliding, hiked the Routeburn Track, tour boat on Milford Sound, sea kayaking on Milford Sound, luge (the street variety), bungy jumping, swimming in Lake Taupo, cycling, decent coffee, excellent beer, and some of the best fish and chips you can imagine.  :)

Oh, and about 1 million sheep. Mud would be in heaven...

Congratulations to F'ueco and Joan for finishing IMNZ, both under 14 hours! (Make it 13 for one of them.) I'll wait for F'ueco to fill us in with details once he returns from his sightseeing.

Sheep go to heaven, goats go to hell.

That could be a cool route name.

Yep, it's true... Joan kicked my bum. My leg was causing problems with the bike-run transition and I walked more than half of the marathon. But my swim and bike times were decent: 1:16 and 6:14.  :)

I'm transferring pics from my laptop and hope to get some up on Photobucket tonight. If not, tomorrow morning... And yes I'm back home. Plenty of pics of sheep and llamas to come!
